Wayne can provide unique gifts in a wide range of media or page size. Individuals, couples, groups. head & shoulders, full body, themes, hobbies, gags and captions to name a few. It’s only limited by your imagination, and you can be Art Director – in five levels of exaggeration. From something like a Portrait, all the way to Extreme.

  • 1. Flattering caricatures exaggerate your good points and make them amusing. Kids in particular come up super cute, Guys can look super cool, or pretty for the Ladies.
  • 2. Go Easy, a bit of mirth with a portrait look. This is the most popular level.

  • 3. Naughty but Nice, for a cheeky but flattering appeal especially with the facial expression.

  • 4. Whatever you Reckon, the most recommended by the Artist if you wish to have an honest unbiased interpretation. Liberal free reign.

  • 5. Hit me with your Rhythm Stick for the more ‘devil may care’, extreme. Not necessarily embarrassing but can be, & that may not be in features but with some private joke about the subject.

The Steps To Purchasing Caricatures Are:

Wayne can provide unique gifts in a wide range of media or page size. Individuals, Couples, Groups. Head & Shoulders, Full Body. Themes, hobbies, gags and captions to name a few. It's only limited by your imagination.

  • Step 1 - Confirm your order and I will email you an invoice. Most options and their prices can be found on the Price list. If you can't find your specific requirements please phone and nearly anything can be arranged to suit your cartoon or caricature requirements.
  • Step 2 - Reference Material. Post or email me the photos of the subject with a return address. Include notes about anything that you feel would be relevant about the subject. With the photos, I will need at least one of good clarity, but don't overlook badly taken photos as they may have some expression that could be interesting. Anywhere up to 5 of the most recent is fine. If sending by email, try and keep the file size small, such as 'jpeg format'. Live sittings can also be arranged at a venue of your choice.
  • Step 3 - Deposit payment. See invoice for payment options and details.
  • Step 4 - Allow at least two weeks from the time I receive remittance and reference material. Shorter time frames may be possible however a 50% loading may apply if it involves working weekends or evenings, which may appear as additions to a final account. This sometimes has applied where a shorter deadline is initially requested and to compound the rush there are delays in sending reference material or payment. If this applies the client will be notified before proceeding with any work.
  • Step 5 - Correspondence through phone or email throughout the process. If your time frame is short it will be necessary for you to constantly check for correspondence updates

Terms of Payment

In advance for smaller jobs, or 50% in advance for larger jobs and any remainder on pickup/delivery, unless arranged otherwise. In some circumstances, there is an option of payment by cash on completion, say, if you are going to personally pick up the artwork. Please advise. All necessary steps are taken to guarantee you get the required result.

Such Steps Include

One preliminary sketch for you to authorise before going to finished art. Further drafts or alterations to the drafts are charged on merit, if they are deemed necessary or requested. These will be incurred as additions to the quoted fee, unless (of course) it can be shown that the changes were necessary because I haven't followed your brief. Alterations to the draft rarely exceed $30 each and are payable on completion. Additional draft sketches you authorise can be paid on completion of the final art. If in doubt, add approximately 20% to the quoted fee for possible additional drafts.

Mediums

Where Charcoal, Graphite or Ink is listed below, it implies "Black on White", although the Black may instead be any colour of your choice provided it is just one colour. The artwork usually includes halftones for greater depth, but it is still classed as a "One Colour.

Also a 'Duotone' can be achieved if the page is another colour, such as Sepia, which is very popular. See example below, on a champagne coloured page with sepia coloured ink.

Similarly on a One Colour a "Spot Colour" may be applied for that extra impact for a small additional fee. See example below.

Pricing

Prices below are "from", are for Traditional (or Hard Copy) Art, are subject to Terms and not including Postage. May include titles, tag lines or captions included in the price. Are for A4 & A3, but any page sizes are possible. For each Page size increase add 25%.

In summary, for the cost saving of a One Colour order there a still a range of options open to the imagination.

Here is a handy rule of thumb when doing a cost estimate based on the above prices:

  • 2 – 4 subjects = 85%
  • 5 – 9 subjects = 75%
  • 10 – 15 subjects = 60%
  • 16 – 20 subjects = 50%
  • 21 – 30 subjects = 45%
  • 30 + subjects subject to negotiation
